Directed by legendary cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Jack Cardiff and starring Rod Taylor, Yvette Mimieux, Jim Brown and Peter Carsten, this hard-hitting Congo adventure follows a band of mercenaries racing by armored train through war-torn territory to rescue a group of civilians–and a fortune in uncut diamonds–before the rebels close in. But DARK OF THE SUN is no ordinary jungle adventure. Infamous for its graphic violence, the film builds to a series of savage, unforgettable action set pieces, including one of cinema’s legendary early chainsaw fights, as Taylor’s Captain Curry battles Peter Carsten’s sadistic former Nazi, Henlein, in a vicious struggle with a roaring chainsaw. A blood-soaked, hard-edged cult favorite that was considered shockingly violent upon its original release, DARK OF THE SUN is made for the big screen–and this rare IB Technicolor 35mm print makes this screening an especially special opportunity to see it as it was meant to be seen! Tickets are .00 at the door and online at thegaptheatre.com Showtime at 7pm Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. No Refunds or transfers.”,”offers”:[{“@type”:”Offer”,”category”:”primary”,”name”:”DARK OF THE SUN (1968) in 35mm”,”price”:”10.00″,”priceCurrency”:”USD”,”availability”:”InStock”,”validFrom”:”2026-10-07T00:00:00-0400″,”validThrough”:”2026-11-20T21:00:00-0500″,”url”:”https://events.ticketleap.com/tickets/gap-theatre/dark-of-the-sun-1968-in-35mm”}],”location”:{“@context”:”http://schema.org”,”@type”:”Place”,”name”:”Gap Theatre”,”address”:{“@context”:”http://schema.org”,”@type”:”PostalAddress”,”streetAddress”:”47 South Broadway”,”addressLocality”:”Wind Gap”,”addressRegion”:”PA”,”postalCode”:”18091″,”addressCountry”:”US”}}}
